Northstar Arabians began as a family endeavor over 20 years ago. We enjoyed showing our purebred Arabian horses on the local level and did everything as a family. Watching my son Ben show our horse, Our Certainleis Choice (Sonny) in western pleasure was a fun and exciting family activity.
Several times I attended the Scottsdale Show as well as the US National Championships to watch the top riders and handlers in the country compete. Watching them, I secretly dreamed of one day owning a horse of that caliber – one that could compete and win on the national level. After years of raising my family, and they had all left home to pursue their own dreams and education, I decided it was my turn to follow my dreams.
Today, my dreams are coming true. Northstar Arabians is becoming a small boutique Arabian horse breeding farm. With the help of mentors, I’ve collected a small group of nucleus mares of various ages and bloodlines. Some are owned by Northstar Arabians, and some are owned in partnership with Rohara Arabians. In 2024, we had our very first foal, a colt by Sharif Al Zobair out of Baahira MTC, a mare owned in partnership with Rohara. In developing my small breeding program, I’ve researched proven stallions that I believe will cross well with my mares. My goal is to purchase auction breedings and or breedings to stallions that are nominated for futurities and payback programs. By using auction breedings, I hope to increase the value of the foals my mares produce, giving the owner, whether it be a new owner or myself, the possibility to experience the thrill of competition and winning a paycheck as well. For me, Northstar Arabians is all about relationships… my relationships with each of my mares, including my old, retired horses, my relationships with the foals they produce and the relationships with the people I meet through the horses. We share a very special bond – our love for the Arabian horse. Join me on my journey in pursuing my passion for Arabian horses. If you’ve found my website, it tells me you love Arabian horses too that we have a lot in common. To learn more about what’s happening at Northstar [click here]
